Our Story

RECENT BEGINNINGS

City on a Hill Community Church of Indian River began as a church plant in the summer of 2016. For nearly a year and half we met in Inland Lakes School, setting up and tearing down each Sunday.  In December 2017, we were extremely blessed by another ministry (Strait Gate House of Prayer) offering us their building.  Since then, we have been meeting at our new location (quite literally on a hill!). It’s been an incredible journey these past few years, and we know that none of it is possible without the Lord directing our steps.

A little about who we are—we are a non-denominational, Bible believing church founded on two main principles. 1. We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God. This means the entirety of Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit—from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation.  2. The second principle is that we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, took on human form (the incarnation), died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for all our sins (the crucifixion), and rose from the grave on the third day (the resurrection), thus giving all who place their faith in Christ Jesus the eternal gift of salvation.  Our mission is to make disciples by leading people to Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him. We strive to bring new life to our community with Christ-centered relationships built on Biblical truth. To learn more about what we believe, head over to our Core Beliefs page.

AFTER SERVICE

At CHCC Indian River we value our times of fellowship. After each service we offer coffee, snacks, and time to chat right upstairs in the sanctuary. On the first Sunday of every month we enjoy a meal together downstairs.
