      Sermon Discussion
*For those who did not or could not watch the live video you can find it below.* Find the sermon notes here. QUESTION TO CONSIDER: What is one thing that stood out to you from this week's message? Is it hard for people to think that the kingdom is present at all? What are some fo the ethics for the kingdom of God? How do they differ from the ethics our flesh is tempted to follow? How can God use you to reflect his kingdom to earth? How can your work be used for the kingdom of God? How can I pray for you?

      Peace That Transcends All Understanding // Day 7 // May 11, 2020
      CHCC Daily Reading Plan
Our reading plans will come from the YouVersion Bible app. If you do not have the app, click HERE . But, if you already have the app, and want to follow the reading plan, click HERE. For those who don't have the app or are unable to do so, I will post the devotions and Scripture here within the post so you are able to follow along with us! SOW PEACE WHEREVER YOU GO "Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness." James 3:18  I want to challenge you today to become a peacemaker who sows peace in order to raise a harvest of righteousness wherever you go. I guarantee you that the Lord Himself will give a harvest of righteousness. Will you join me today and rededicate your life to the Lord Jesus Christ? Make this prayer your own...  Dear Lord Jesus, today we want to go back to the basics, to the grassroots. Lord, we want to tell You first of all that we love You. We repent all of our sin. We ask You to forgive our self-centeredness. We want to put You first and foremost in our lives, Lord. We thank You, Lord, that Your Word says if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness all these other things will be given to us.  We ask now, Lord, that You will come into our lives and fill us with the fruit of Your Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.   Peace is what we desire most these days, Lord. Grant us Your everlasting peace.  We direct our lives to You today. Mould us so that we can have the mind and attitude of Jesus Christ, so that we can become like the Prince of Peace more and more every day. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.  Now go out and sow peace wherever you go. Plant and water the seeds, and see how God makes them grow.  Lord Jesus, I rededicate my life to You. You are the Prince of Peace. Empower me through Your Spirit to sow the seed of peace wherever I go. Amen.  James 3:18 (ESV) - 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. Luke 24:36 (ESV) - 36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them,“Peace to you!” John 15:16 (ESV) - 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

MAKE JESUS YOUR FIRST PRIORITY "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" Mark 8:36-37  Penny Heyns is a personal friend of mine. In the Lord I like to look upon her as a daughter in Christ. It is a great honour for me to say that she has realised Jesus Christ is more important to her than all the gold medals, all the blazers and all the colours that she has been awarded for her sport. People are so fickle. When you’re a champion, everyone wants to know you. But the day you don’t make the championship, the day that you come second or even last, nobody wants to know you anymore. That’s the tragedy of life. There’s only one person who will forever be the same, and His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Make Him your most important priority in life.  Maybe some of you are very worried as you’re reading this today. Maybe you are too concerned about your bank balance, about your investments, about your possessions, about your achievements in life. Remember then the words of Mark 8:36, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” The Lord Jesus Christ is more important than anything or anyone in this world.  If you want contentment in your life, put your priorities straight today. Live a godly life. He will bless you with the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life, and above all with His love, peace and contentment.  Lord Jesus, I confess that I am worried about worldly things. Today I choose again to fix my eyes on You so that I will know love, peace and contentment in my life. Amen  Mark 8:36-37 (ESV) - 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37 For what can a man give in return for his soul? John 16:33 (ESV) - 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
